I will be posting to the blog once a week beginning in April 2008. My blog will focus on the technical side of OSCAR and the technical support of the OSCAR program. Please use the Forums to post questions that are not related to the blog postings. It will make it easier to keep track of your feedback and ensure that we respond to your posts in a timely manor.
OSCAR Version 4 and the 2008 Law Clerk Hiring Season

With this new version, OSCAR accommodates judges who choose to accept clerkship applications electronically, judges who want to receive only paper applications, and judges who wish to advise applicants that they do not have a clerkship vacancy. Grade Sheet Changes

The merger with the Federal Law Clerk Information System (FLCIS) was the biggest change this year, however, there have been many other smaller changes. One of the more significant of these changes is the way applicants upload grade sheets.
New Website Design
Submitted by Chris Warner on Mon, 04/14/2008 - 16:19.We have redesigned the OSCAR informational website (again). I was not happy with the integration of the old blog software and the website. The old OSCAR website was created with static HTML content. Last year we upgraded the original blog software with product named B2evolution. This was an improvement over the previous year, but it was still not the complete solution that we were looking for.

OSCAR Version 4 Announcement
Submitted by admin on Thu, 04/10/2008 - 01:28.In June 2007, the Judicial Conference Committee on Judicial Resources endorsed the On-line System for Clerkship Application and Review (OSCAR) as a non-mandatory, nationally supported law clerk application system. A new and improved OSCAR Version 4 will be unveiled on Monday, May 5, 2008. This new OSCAR version will incorporate all functionalities previously provided by the Federal Law Clerk Information System (FLCIS) and, as a result, FLCIS will sunset on Friday, May 2, 2008.
